Sara began taking Hatha yoga classes in 1998 to help de-stress and stretch out during exam-time. Her interest was piqued and she began a teacher-training course with the Yoga Therapy and Training Centre (YTTC) in 2004. Since then yoga has become her vocation and she has received her Hatha yoga-teaching certificate from YTTC and a postgraduate teaching certificate from Yoga Therapy Ireland. She has also attained certificates in Yoga Therapy for Arthritis, Back Conditions, Heart Conditions, Respiratory Conditions, Stress-related Conditions, Women’s Health, Digestive Conditions, Immune Conditions, Endocrine Conditions and Special Needs and Men's Health. She has completed her training in Yoga Therapy with the YTTC and is a qualified Yoga Therapist. In Autumn 2008 Sara began Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training and successfully completed Introductory Level One exams in late Summer 2009 and her Introductory Level Two in Autumn 2010. Sara is also qualified to teach Yoga for Pregnancy.

Most recently Sara has been invited to teach at iYOGA, the Iyengar yoga centre in Phibsborough, Dublin 7. Her primary teaching role to date has been in the Dublin City University Yoga Club since 2004, including yoga modules for the DCU GAA Academy, early morning classes for staff and daytime classes for students. She also teaches in her home town of Newbridge and nearby Naas where she has taught both general classes and yoga for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Sara has also taught on yoga holidays both in Ireland and Portugal. She tailors the class to its participants and including body, breath and meditation elements. Sara also takes clients for one-to-one sessions to work on specific problems therapeutically or to help deepen a person’s practice and understanding of yoga.

Currently focusing on Iyengar yoga, she regularly attends yoga workshops and holidays to continually add to her personal practice and teaching.
